The Best Eye Exam Deserves Better Glasses

One of the phrases I hear most often from patients is, “That was the best eye exam I’ve ever had.” And every time I hear it, I feel incredibly grateful! Providing thorough, thoughtful care is something I take very seriously.

But there’s a question I’ve come back to for years.

What does “the best eye exam you’ve ever had” really mean if it’s paired with the cheapest glasses you can possibly get? To me, it doesn’t quite add up. Literally!

Clear vision is only one third of the experience. The glasses you wear every day should fit beautifully, function properly, and make you feel confident when you put them on. And for many people, that’s where eyewear falls short.

Why So Many People Dislike Choosing Glasses

Over time, I’ve realized that a lot of people genuinely dislike choosing glasses. Some feel overwhelmed by walls of frames. Others tell me they’ve never been sure what actually looks good on them. Many people feel rushed during the process and end up choosing something quickly just to get it over with.

I’ve had patients tell me they’ve never really loved their glasses!

Glasses have become something people tolerate instead of something they enjoy wearing. But when you rely on them every single day, that’s a problem worth solving.

How ForSight Began

Dr. Morrow OD MS

The idea behind ForSight started long before the doors ever opened. After earning my Doctor of Optometry and Master of Vision Science, I originally planned to purchase a practice near my hometown in Colorado. About a month before graduation, the doctor who planned to sell the practice called to say he wasn’t ready after all.

A year later, my husband Brian and I moved to Savannah for his career. One afternoon while walking through Forsyth Park, we decided right then and there that it was time to build something of our own.

I eventually found the historic Thrifty’s building undergoing restoration on MLK and knew it was the perfect home! I studied traffic patterns, researched the needs of our local community and surrounding businesses, and built an independent practice centered around quality, intentional care, and unique eyewear.

Why Independence Matters to Us

Choosing glasses should feel exciting! Yes, I said it! You should be able to see exceptionally well and feel incredible wearing your glasses.

Our independence allows us to make decisions based on what truly serves our patients. Instead of filling our optical with hundreds of random frames, we carefully curate the collections we carry. We intentionally work with eyewear brands that take pride in their craftsmanship, and each frame in our office is hand selected with our patients in mind.

When you support a small independent practice like ours, you’re doing more than scheduling an eye exam or purchasing a pair of glasses. You’re supporting local jobs, independent designers, and community organizations that make Savannah special. And in return, we get to support you!

One of our favorite patients and her family travel all the way from the Jacksonville, Florida area for their eye care and eyewear. As a thank you, we wanted to surprise them with something special and sent them to a Savannah Bananas game! We loved seeing the photos she sent afterward. So many smiles!

With love and gratitude,

Dr. Morrow
