Scleral Lenses

Scleral lenses offer clarity and comfort for patients who have been previously told they were not good candidates for contacts or who have been unsuccessful with other types of contact lenses. Scleral lenses are custom fit to address the patient’s individual needs. Dr. Morrow brings established expertise and innovative technology to fit this highly precise lens which is allowing so many more patients to have SIGHT.

About Scleral Lenses

Scleral lenses are large diameter rigid gas permeable contacts that are custom made for each eye. Scleral lenses may be used to improve vision and comfort for people suffering from a number of eye disorders or injuries to the eye, such as:

  • Dry Eye Syndrome

  • Graft vs. Host Disease

  • Keratoconus

  • Pellucid Degeneration

  • Corneal Ectasia

  • Disorders of the Iris

    • Aniridia

    • Coloboma

    • Surgical Alteration

  • Corneas that have developed neurological changes due to Diabetes or Virus infections such as Herpes Simplex or Herpes Zoster.

Scleral lenses have been highly successful for patients with complications from post-LASIK / RK / PRK and patients that have undergone corneal transplants. Patients that have had scarring due to surgical complications, chemical burns, and blunt injuries may also be candidates for scleral lenses.

If you suffer from dry eye, sensitive eyes, a medical condition, or injury, ask Dr. Morrow if the large diameter scleral lenses are right for you.
