Masunaga Has Arrived at ForSight

Last month’s Masunaga frame show was one for the books! Our office was full of conversation, beautiful frames, and familiar faces. We had the chance to share a collection I’ve been excited about while spending time with our patients and community.

I’m so thankful to everyone who joined us and helped make the event such a success. I also want to thank Lis, our Masunaga representative, for bringing the collection to us and for being such an important part of the day.

Whenever we host an event like this, it gives me a chance to step back and appreciate what makes ForSight special. It was such a lovely way to help people experience independent eyewear in a way that felt personal, thoughtful, and FUN!

Yes, we provide comprehensive eye care. Yes, we love beautiful eyewear. But more than anything, I’ve always wanted this practice to feel like a place where expertise and connection live side by side.

Bringing in a new collection is never random for us. I’m looking for quality, of course, but I’m also looking for intention. I want to know how a frame feels on the face, how it wears throughout the day, and whether it offers something truly distinctive for our patients. Some collections make an impression immediately because of a bold shape or color story. Others are quieter and reveal themselves in the details.

A frame doesn’t have to shout to be memorable. In fact, some of the most impressive eyewear does the opposite. It sits effortlessly, feels thoughtfully made, and has a presence you notice more and more the longer you wear it. Masunaga does that exceptionally well!

What stands out to me is the level of care behind every frame. Masunaga’s eyewear manufacturing involves about 200 manual steps, and Masunaga is unusual in that it keeps the entire process in-house. Talk about craftsmanship!

I also appreciate that Masunaga has never seemed interested in chasing attention for attention’s sake. There’s a quiet confidence to the collection. The design is elegant, the quality is unmistakable, and the details reveal themselves the more closely you look. For patients who appreciate understated beauty and exceptional construction, it’s a remarkable line to experience in person.

ForSight has never been about offering the same experience people can get everywhere else.

From the beginning, I wanted our practice to feel carefully curated. That applies to our eye exams, our patient experience, and our optical. We’re very intentional about the collections we bring in, and independent eyewear has always been a huge part of that story.

I love independent eyewear because it gives us the chance to offer something with real point of view. It also allows us to introduce our patients to frames that feel unique without feeling costume-y. Stylish without sacrificing comfort. Distinctive without being overdone.

Masunaga is a beautiful addition to that mix. It gives us another exceptional collection to style from and gives our patients another way to express themselves through eyewear that feels elevated and deeply considered.

The good news is that Masunaga is here to stay. If you weren’t able to join us for the frame show, we’d still love to introduce you to the line and find a frame that feels right for you. That’s the beauty of having a boutique optical and a team that truly loves this work! The event may be over, but the experience is still here.
